Typography and Layout

The assignment was to pick an advert from the classified page of a newspaper or magazine and create typographic layout variations with and without a grid. The chosen advert was not supposed to be more than 100 words with just one image or graphic element. 
The layouts were to be done within the given constraints, therefore they are in a sequential order.
1. The Grid
2. Text in only one size. No paragraph spaces. No styles.
3. Text in only one size. Paragraph spaces allowed.
4. Text in one size, Paragraph spaces + one additional style
5. Text in one size, paragraph spaces + one additional style + additional leading
6. Text in one size, Paragraph spaces + one additional style + additionlal leading + additional Kerning/Tracking.
7. Text in two sizes, Paragraph spaces + one additional leading style + additional Kerning/Tracking.
8. Text in any number of sizes, Paragraph spaces + any number of styles + variety of leading / Kerning / Tracking.
9. Text in any number of sizes, Paragraph spaces + any number of styles + variety of leading / Kerning / Tracking + Include Tonal Ranges (Greyscale).
10. Text in any number of sizes. Paragraph spaces + any number of styles + variety of leading / Kerning / Tracking + Include Tonal Ranges (Greyscale) + Include Image or Graphic Element. 
11. Text in any number of sizes. Paragraph spaces + any number of styles + variety of leading / Kerning / Tracking + Include Tonal Ranges (Greyscale) + Include Image or Graphic Element + Include repetition of any element/s.
12. Text in any number of sizes. Paragraph spaces + any number of styles + variety of leading / Kerning / Tracking + Include Tonal Ranges (Greyscale) + Include Image or Graphic Element + Include repetition of any element/s + Include one additional colour.
13. Text in any number of sizes. Paragraph spaces + any number of styles + variety of leading / Kerning / Tracking + Include Tonal Ranges (Greyscale) + Include Image or Graphic Element + Include repetition of any element/s + Include more than one additional colour.
14. Using any number of variations (or none at all) from the above pages, lay out your text and image in such a way that there is a remarkable change in the meaning of the communication.
15. Discard the grid. And design your composition with all the elements and variables of Page 13.
